Jay (Sungjea) Kim earned a Bachelor's degree in Physics and Electrical Engineering from Soongsil University, which they attended from 2008 to 2014. Following this, they pursued a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (specializing in Automation and Instrumentation) at the British Columbia Institute of Technology from 2019 to 2021. Jay has obtained various certifications throughout their education and career. In 2015, they completed the SIMATIC S7-300/400 PLC Training at Siemens and received theoretical and practical training on Spooler Line Automation and Electrical Maintenance from the Danieli Group. In 2017, they acquired theoretical and practical training for new main AC Drives for Rolling Mill from the same institution. Additionally, in 2019, they became a GradTech member of ASTTBC Technology Professionals. Jay achieved the Engineer In Training certification from Engineers and Geoscientists BC in January 2020. Lastly, in November 2021, they became a Professional Member of the International Society of Automation (ISA).
