Nicolas Métivier has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Starting in 2003, they worked as an R&D engineer at EADS Telecom. In 2004, they transitioned to PolyGRAMES as an R&D engineer, specializing in signal algorithms and multiple antennas systems. Nicolas then joined Thales Optronique - Coframi as a real-time software developer, managing a team and working on software maintenance and integration. In 2006, Nicolas became a Software Project Manager & Developer at Cobham Aerospace Communications, where they focused on real-time software for audio control panels in Airbus aircraft. Nicolas then joined Alstom Grid (former Areva T&D) in 2007, taking on various roles such as Technical Lead, Solution Architect, and System Integrator, delivering projects for energy transmission network monitoring and renewable energy estimation systems. From 2012 to 2018, they worked at GE Power as Director of Data & Analytics and Senior Software Manager. Finally, since 2018, Nicolas has been with Centrica as the Head of Local Energy Market Platform. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Flexibility Software Product Line at EPEX SPOT since 2021.

Nicolas Métivier completed their education in the field of engineering. From 2001 to 2004, they attended ISEP - école d'ingénieurs du numérique and obtained an Engineer's degree in Software Engineering. During the same period, from 2003 to 2004, they also attended Polytechnique Montréal and earned an Engineer's degree in Telecommunications Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Nicolas has also obtained certifications. In May 2015, they completed a course on Machine Learning from Stanford University through Coursera.
