Tessa Firestone

Tessa Firestone has a diverse work experience starting in 2018. Tessa began as a Health Unit Coordinator at Upmc Shadyside Hospital, where they efficiently managed patient/visitor calls and provided professional assistance. Tessa also maintained detailed patient records and provided personalized service to doctors, nurses, and patients. In 2019, Tessa joined the University of Pittsburgh as a Teaching Assistant, where they organized classroom materials, set up equipment, and provided detailed explanations and demonstrations of lab experiments to students. Simultaneously, they worked as an Independent Researcher, conducting their own research projects. In 2019, Tessa also joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center as a Graduate Student Researcher, a role they continue to hold. Their most recent position is as a Research Associate II at EpiCypher, Inc., starting in November 2021.

Tessa Firestone pursued their undergraduate education at the University of Pittsburgh from 2015 to 2019. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a major in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Tessa continued their academic journey at the same institution, receiving another Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in the same field of study within the same timeframe.

Having completed their undergraduate studies, Tessa then enrolled at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2019. Tessa is currently pursuing their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, specializing in Immunology Pathology and Infectious Disease. Tessa's expected completion of their PhD is anticipated in 2025.
