Epilepsy Action
Avril Coelho is a dedicated advocate for disability rights and gender equality, currently serving as a volunteer for Epilepsy Action and as a Chief Executive Officer of AvrilCoelhoCreations. Experience includes being a Disabled Intersectional Fashion Model focused on raising awareness of hidden disabilities, and a member of the Council of Management for the Council Working Practices Review Group with a term ending in June 2024. Avril has held various leadership roles, including Assistant Manager at Holland and Barrett International, where responsibilities involve acting as Voice Champion and Menopause Ambassador, and serving as a Councillor for the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Active in the Liberal Democrats, Avril has contributed as Chair of the Liberal Democrats Disability Association and an Executive Board Member for both the Lib Dem Disability Association and the Campaign for Race Equality. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Art, Design & Media from the University of Portsmouth.
