Erika Szabó has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Erika began their career in 1999 as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto at Mississauga, where they also worked as a Seasonal Instructor. Erika then joined the University of Windsor as a Ph.D. Research Assistant, specializing in geology. Erika also worked as a Research Assistant at various organizations, including the Saskatchewan Energy and Resources Subsurface Geological Laboratory, Manitoba Industry, Economic Development and Mines, and the Wilson M. Laird Core & Sample Library. In 2002, they became a Seasonal Instructor at The University of Western Ontario.

From 2014 to 2019, Erika worked as a Wellsite geology consultant at Rockwell Consulting Ltd., gaining practical experience in the field. In 2019, they took up a role as a Junior Developer at ZenduIT, where they further developed their programming skills.

More recently, Erika joined EQ Works in 2020 as a Web Developer and later transitioned into the role of Product Developer. In this position, they oversaw scrum project management and implemented Jest unit tests in Typescript to ensure robust code quality. Erika also collaborated with the design team to enhance the functionality and user experience of Widget Studio.

Erika Szabó's education history includes several degrees and certifications. In 1992 to 1997, they studied at the Technical University of Cluj Napoca and earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Computer Sciences. From 1994 to 1999, they attended "Babeș-Bolyai" University in Romania and obtained another Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree, this time in Geology. Additionally, they pursued further education at the University of Toronto from 1999 to 2001 and obtained a Master of Science degree in Geology. Erika also engaged in a Ph.D. program in Geophysics at Western University from 2002 to 2013, during which they were a candidate for a Ph.D. degree.

Furthermore, Erika holds a certificate in Web Development from Lighthouse Labs, which they acquired in 2018. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as Petroleum Safety Training, WHMIS, TDG Training, Standard First Aid CPR/AEC C, and H2S Alive. The obtaining years for these certifications range from 2013 to 2017.
