Jacob started their career as a Security Counselor at the State of Minnesota, where they provided facility security and residential care. After that, they worked as a Software Development Intern at Saturn Systems Software Engineering. In 2012, they joined Gradient Financial Group as a Junior Software Developer and eventually moved on to become a Software Development Team Lead and then the Director of Software Engineering. During their time at Gradient Financial Group, they developed .NET based applications for the financial industry. Currently, Jacob is working at EQ Holdings as a Sr. Application Development Manager, starting in 2019.
Jacob Kantonen pursued their education by attending the University of Minnesota from 2003 to 2005. During this time, they focused on studying Computer Science. Later, from 2010 to 2012, Jacob continued their education at the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where they acquired a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
