Dave MacRae

Dave MacRae has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Dave currently works at Equal Experts as a Platform Architect/Security Architect since August 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Royal Bank of Scotland for nearly 7 years as an Infrastructure Solutions Architect, where they specialized in advising on PCI DSS related projects and ensuring proper governance procedures were followed.

Before their time at RBS, Dave held various roles at DataCash (A MasterCard Company) from 1998 to 2014, including Senior Product Owner and Solutions Architect. Dave was responsible for managing and developing products and solutions.

From 1998 to 2006, Dave worked at Aardvark Media as a Technical Director, overseeing technical operations and project management.

At Fearghas McKay Associates Ltd, a pioneering internet consultancy, Dave worked as a Consultant from 1996 to 1998.

Earlier in their career, they served as a Systems Manager at John Menzies from 1992 to 1996, and at Philips Business Systems from 1986 to 1992.

Dave MacRae completed their education from 1980 to 1984 at the University of Aberdeen, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Computing. In addition to their degree, they have also obtained several certifications. In October 2018, they became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate through Amazon Web Services, and in July 2018, they obtained the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification. Most recently, in May 2023, they acquired the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft.
