Andrew Cooper currently serves as Vice President of Technology at Equal Opportunity Schools, a position held since September 2021. Prior to this role, Andrew was Vice President at Material from June 2021 to September 2022, and held various positions at LRW, including Executive Director and Senior Software Engineer from April 2014 to June 2021. Furthermore, Andrew worked as Technical Lead at J.D. Power for a year and as Senior Survey Engineer at Lieberman Research Worldwide from 2011 to 2013. Earlier career experience includes serving as a Business English Instructor at South Korean English Academies from 2007 to 2011 and as Local Area Network Administrator at Rivalution from 2003 to 2005. Andrew holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from California State University-Dominguez Hills, completed between 2004 and 2007, and has furthered education through Coursera.

Equal Opportunity Schools provides school districts with the data, tools, and customized support needed to increase and diversify enrollment in advanced courses. In a given year, nearly a million students of color and students from low-income backgrounds are overlooked and excluded from advanced high school courses due to flawed and outdated systems that determine which students belong in these classes. A 2020 EdTrust study showed that this student group is less likely to be placed in AP courses and many attend schools where AP classes are not offered. Yet, when given the opportunity they are likely to be successful. EOS partners with school districts across the country to close this opportunity gap.
