Professor Keon West has a diverse work experience in the field of social psychology. Professor Keon is currently a Professor of Social Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London, where they lecture at both graduate and undergraduate levels and manages a lab, research staff, and research students. Prior to this, they held the role of Reader (Associate Professor) at the same university, where they managed large grants and conducted extensive research. Professor West also has experience as a Senior Lecturer at Goldsmiths and as a Lecturer at both the University of Roehampton and the University of Leeds. In addition to their academic positions, they have worked as the Head of Research at Equality Group, leading the quantitative research branch and providing insights to companies on Diversity and Inclusion performance. Throughout their career, Professor West has been recognized for their scholarship and service in the field of social psychology, with numerous awards, publications, conference presentations, and media appearances. Professor Keon'smain research interests focus on understanding and reducing prejudice, particularly sexual prejudice and related constructs.
Professor Keon West obtained a D.Phil in Psychology from the University of Oxford from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a B.A. in Psychology from Macalester College between 2002 and 2006. Before attending college, Professor West completed their high school education at Campion College High School. Additionally, Professor West holds a certification as a Verified Peer Reviewer from Publons.
