Farinaz Koushanfar is a distinguished academic and research scientist in the field of electrical and computer engineering, currently serving as a Professor and Siavouche Nemat-Nasser Endowed Chair at the UC San Diego Jacobs School of Engineering since July 2024, and as a Research Scientist at Chainlink Labs since November 2020. Previously, Farinaz Koushanfar held a faculty position at the University of California, San Diego from November 2015 to August 2024, and served at Rice University from July 2006 to December 2015, progressing from Assistant Professor to full Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department. Farinaz Koushanfar holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Master of Arts in Statistics and Machine Learning from the same institution, and a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering & Computer Science from UCLA. An undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering was earned at Sharif University of Technology.
