Javier Checa

Javier Checa has a diverse work experience in the cybersecurity field. Javier currently holds the position of Head of Security Risk for Europe at Equifax Iberia. Prior to this, they worked as an Information Security Officer and Principal Security Analyst at the same company. Before joining Equifax Iberia, Javier worked as the Seguridad de la Información at El Corte Inglés from 2018 to 2021. Javier also served as a Senior Manager of Cybersecurity at Capgemini from 2017 to 2018. Javier had a significant tenure at CGI, where they held multiple roles including Director of Consulting Services - Cybersecurity and Cybersecurity Consultant. Javier began their career as a Network Security Engineer at BT and later worked as a Network Security Analyst at Cap Gemini.

Javier Checa attended Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 1996 to 2002, where they earned a degree in Informática. In addition to their education, Javier has obtained several certifications in various fields, including CISSP from ISC2 in 2019, CCEPE from Check Point in 2012, CCE from Crossbeam Systems in 2009, CCSA and CCSE from Check Point in 2008. Javier also holds certifications from Cisco, including CCDA, CCNA, and CCNA Security. Lastly, Javier has a PANOS Expert certification from Palo Alto Networks.
