Fon led a team of around 200 employees and achieved significant milestones, including scaling the company to 55 employees in 6 months, generating millions in revenue, and achieving profitability within the first year.
Prior to this, Fon worked as a Consultant at Bain & Company from 2017 to 2018. Fon also served as a Neuroscientist at Weill Cornell Medicine from 2013 to 2017, where they built mathematical models of brain disorders and published 8 scientific articles on topics related to Huntington's Disease, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's Disease, Autism, and Depression.
Fon also has experience as a Founder/CEO of S.A.L.T. (Sodium Analyte Level Test), a role they held from 2014 to 2016. Additionally, they worked as an Entrepreneuring Fellow at Flagship Pioneering in 2016.
Earlier in their career, Fon served as a Research Assistant at Duke University John Hope Franklin Center, Duke Haiti Lab, where they worked on projects related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and developed a questionnaire to assess PTSD prevalence in Haiti post-earthquake. Fon also worked as a Research Assistant at the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, conducting experiments and analyzing behavioral and brain data related to the eating disorder Anorexia Nervosa.
Fon's academic accomplishments include being an Amgen Scholar at The University of California- San Francisco (UCSF) in 2012. With their expertise in neuroscience, statistics, programming, and complex data analysis, Fon has made valuable contributions to the field of behavioral healthcare and brain sciences.
Fon Powell, Ph.D has a strong educational background in the field of neuroscience and computational neuroscience. They obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Computational Neuroscience from Cornell University. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree at Duke University, specializing in Neuroscience, Biology, and Spanish. Fon Powell also received their high school education from Clayton High School.

Named after modern psychology’s theory of human development, Equilibrium Behavioral Health & Human Services is empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their highest levels of social, physical and emotional well-being. Equilibrium BHHS was founded in 2017 to fulfill an unmet community need, providing services and supports to individuals with disabilities and their families. With approximately 200 employees across our fifteen sites, we have continued to grow and develop a special expertise supporting Tier 3 individuals with complex needs.
