Prior to this, Fon worked as a Consultant at Bain & Company from 2017 to 2018. Fon also served as a Neuroscientist at Weill Cornell Medicine from 2013 to 2017, where they built mathematical models of brain disorders and published 8 scientific articles on topics related to Huntington's Disease, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's Disease, Autism, and Depression.

Fon Powell, Ph.D has a strong educational background in the field of neuroscience and computational neuroscience. They obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree in Computational Neuroscience from Cornell University. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree at Duke University, specializing in Neuroscience, Biology, and Spanish. Fon Powell also received their high school education from Clayton High School.
