Martha J. Demski

Martha has served as a member of the board of directors since September 2018. She most recently held the role of senior vice president and chief financial officer of Ajinomoto Althea Inc., a privately-held contract development and manufacturing organization. Prior to that, she served as interim chief operating officer and chief financial officer of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center, and as vice president and chief financial officer of Vical Incorporated, a publicly-held biopharmaceutical company. Additionally, she brings more than 13 years of banking experience with major financial institutions including Bank of America and U.S. Trust. Martha serves on numerous boards, including as chair of Chimerix Inc., a publicly-held biopharmaceutical company, and chair of the audit committee and member of the compensation and finance committees of Adamas Pharmaceuticals Inc., a publicly-held biotechnology company. Martha, a National Association of Corporate Directors Board Governance Fellow, received the Director of the Year in Corporate Governance award in 2017 by the Corporate Directors Forum. She earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with concentrations in accounting and finance, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University.
