Kurt Pletcher

EVP & Global General Counsel at Equinix

Kurt Pletcher is responsible for global legal strategy and day-to-day operations of the Equinix legal team. This work ensures that Equinix is in compliance with the local laws of all countries in which the business operates while championing the highest level of ethics and integrity within the global company. His team is a key partner in the execution of Equinix’s strategy in support of M&A activity, new market entry including the acquisition, building and/or operating of Equinix data centers, as well as closing mutually beneficial deals with customers and partners.

During his 20+ year tenure at the company, Kurt has held a variety of leadership roles on the global legal commercial team as part of the Customer & Revenue Office, and as VP of Legal Americas focused on M&A, real estate and employment.

Kurt joined Equinix in May of 2001 after holding roles in the Employment Law Group at Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP in Washington, D.C. and in the Technology Group at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian, LLP in Menlo Park. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside and a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
