Alex Smolyak

Alex Smolyak has extensive work experience in the field of data science and analytics. Alex is currently the Director of Data & AI at Equinom Ltd since April 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Kando as the Data Science and Analytics Director from March 2022 to April 2023. Before that, they were with Rekor as the Algorithms & Data Science Team Lead from August 2021 to February 2022. Alex also worked at Waycare (acquired by Rekor), where they held two positions: Algorithms & Data Science Team Lead from March 2019 to August 2021, and Senior Data Scientist from May 2018 to March 2019. Alex started their career at Barak Capital as a Quant from November 2010 to July 2012 and has held various roles at different companies, including ReconGate Ltd., Shine Technologies Corp, Nutrimenta Finance & Investments, and Bank Leumi. Alex'sexpertise lies in developing solutions based on data science, AI/ML, and mathematical modeling to enhance visibility and promote safety in traffic management.

Alex Smolyak completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Tel Aviv University in the years 2000 to 2003. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Financial Mathematics at Bar-Ilan University from 2009 to 2010. Finally, Alex obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics from Bar-Ilan University between 2017 and 2020.
