Carlos Alonso Gil Figueroa is an experienced leader in the exploration and production sectors, currently serving as Vice President Exploration and Production Norway at Equinor since May 2018. Previously, Carlos held various roles at Statoil from August 2005 to May 2018, including Strategy Manager, where Carlos designed and implemented a global exploration strategy vital for the company's leadership in the field. Significant achievements include appraising high-impact oil discoveries in Eastern Canada and the Barents Sea, as well as planning and drilling exploration wells in the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Carlos's educational background includes executive programs at prestigious institutions such as MIT Sloan School of Management and Harvard Business School, along with an MBA from IE Business School and a MSc in Geology from IFP School.
