Pengyu Zhu

Pengyu Zhu is currently serving as a Principal Functional Safety Engineer at Equinor, a position held since December 2022. Zhu has extensive experience in functional safety and operational safety, including roles as a Safety Advisor at Safetec Nordic AS and a Functional Safety Advisor at Vår Energi. Zhu is also the Director Elect of the ISA Security and Safety Division, contributing as a board member and senior ISA member since February 2021. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Operation & Maintenance Optimization of Safety Instrumented Functions from the University of Stavanger, alongside a Master of Engineering in Offshore Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Yantai University. Previous experience includes positions at MRC Global, ConocoPhillips, Lloyd's Register Consulting, Jinhai Heavy Industry, and DSME, covering various aspects of engineering, project management, and quality assurance.
