Engineering Team Lead at Equinor

Svein Vatna is an experienced engineering professional with expertise in subsea technology and offshore engineering. Currently serving as Engineering Team Lead at Equinor since May 2018, Vatna has been involved in the Hywind Scotland pilot project, focusing on the development of floating wind mills. Previously, as Principal Engineer at Statoil, Vatna contributed to several groundbreaking projects, including the Åsgard Subsea Compression project, the first subsea gas compression system, and the Snøhvit Field Development, which featured the longest subsea tie-back project at the time. Vatna's career also includes positions at GE Energy and J P Kenny, where important contributions to subsea engineering and pipeline studies were made. Vatna holds a B Eng Honors Degree in Offshore Engineering with Mechanical from Heriot-Watt University and an engineering degree in Marine Technology from Western Norway University of Applied Sciences.
