Marcelo Coelho's work experience includes being the Vice President of Continuous Improvement at Equinox Gold Corp starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Vale, where they held various roles such as Head of Transformation Office, General Manager - North Atlantic (Canada & UK), Operational Excellence Manager, Sr Lead Principal Engineer, Lead Principal Engineer, Principal Engineer, Senior Lean Engineer, Lean Engineer. Marcelo also completed a Management Trainee Program at Vale. Additionally, they worked at Toyota North America as a TPS Adviser and at Santa Barbara Engenharia SA as an Engineering Trainee.

Marcelo Coelho's education history includes a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, obtained between 2019 and 2020. Marcelo also received a Certificate of General Management from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2013, and a Leadership Development Program from Fundação Dom Cabral in 2011. Marcelo Coelho completed their undergraduate studies in Industrial Engineering at Universidade da Amazônia from 2005 to 2009, with a focus on processes, supply chain, production planning and control, and process optimization. In addition, they obtained a certification as a Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner from Prosci in the year 2020.
