Heather Hernandez

Heather Hernandez, MA, LMFT, CCLS is a seasoned therapist with extensive experience in child and family therapy. Currently serving as a Primary Therapist/Case Manager at Equip since October 2022, Heather specializes in supporting clients through Eating Disorder treatment using Family-Based Therapy (FBT) and Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E). Previous roles include Child Life Specialist at Atlantic Health from February 2016 to July 2025, Marriage & Family Therapy Resident at Bridges Counseling Center from August 2014 to September 2022, and Child Life Specialist at Cooper University Health Care from June 2013 to February 2016. Heather's career began as a Child Life Intern at Hackensack University Medical Center in 2006 and advanced to a Sr. Child Life Specialist/Coordinator at Woodhull Medical Center from April 2008 to May 2013. Heather holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling from Alliance University and a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Family Studies from Montclair State University.
