Dr. David Markwell

Dr. David Markwell serves as an independent director on the board of Equitable, Canada’s largest mutual insurance company, while also holding the position of Chief Technology and Analytics Officer at Loblaw Companies Limited since October 2007. At Loblaw, Dr. Markwell is a member of the Executive Management Board, overseeing technology strategy, digital transformation, and analytics, and has held various senior positions that include CIO and Vice President roles focused on data, IT project delivery, and supply chain technology. In addition to corporate roles, Dr. Markwell educates as an adjunct professor at the Schulich School of Business and Queen's School of Business and contributes to multiple boards, including ScaleAI.ca and OneEleven. Dr. Markwell's educational background includes a Doctor of Business Administration, an MBA, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
