Jolanda Kluin serves as the Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Erasmus MC since February 2023 and holds a professorship in Cardiothoracic Surgery and Translational Cardiovascular Research at the University of Amsterdam since June 2018. Kluin is actively involved in various professional organizations, including as Chair of the Women in Cardiothoracic Surgery Committee at the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery and as Chair of the AVIATOR Research Network for the Heart Valve Society. Additionally, Kluin participates in advisory roles with AWTI, Novostia, and the European Society for Cardiovascular & Endovascular Surgery, while also serving as an Associate Editor for the European Heart Journal. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Erasmus University Rotterdam, complemented by specialized training in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Kluin is also a member of the supervisory board for Stichting Delta de Bilt, which oversees multiple educational institutions in the region.
