Ramon L. Callahan Jr. has a strong background in environmental health, safety, and security compliance. Ramon L. began their career in 1983 as a Signal Officer in the US Army National Guard and later transitioned to the role of Brigade Communications Electronics Staff Officer. In 1986, they joined Entergy as an Environmental Chemist, where they were responsible for environmental sampling and surveillance program implementation. Ramon L. also operated a RCRA Part B Permitted TSD facility for hazardous and radiological waste. In 1988, Ramon joined Ergon Inc. as a Senior Environmental Scientist, where they oversaw air, water, and waste compliance and permitting. Ramon L. was also responsible for soil and groundwater remediation. Ramon L. later joined the Mississippi Air National Guard as a Health Services Administrator, serving until 2004. In 2003, Ramon returned to Ergon Inc. as the Corporate Environmental/Security Manager, and in 2015, they were promoted to Vice President - Environmental Health Safety & Security. In this role, they are accountable for developing a strong health and safety culture and ensuring the global safety and security of Ergon employees.
Ramon L. Callahan Jr. obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from Mississippi State University, which they completed from 1981 to 1985. Ramon L. then pursued a Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Mississippi, which they completed from 1991 to 1996.
In addition to their formal education, Ramon L. Callahan Jr. has obtained several certifications.
