Luis J Almodóvar

Luis J Almodóvar has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Luis J is currently serving as the Co-Founder and Advisor for ErgoSuture, a company focused on driving surgical innovations through advanced suturing systems. Previously, they worked as the Invention Ambassador for AAAS-Lemelson Foundation, where they promoted the importance of invention in improving our quality of life and the economy. Luis J also co-founded ErgoSurgical Group Corp., serving as the Chief Scientific Officer, and was involved in the research and development of novel suturing technology and devices. Prior to that, they worked as a Neurosurgeon specializing in Neurosurgical Oncology and Radiosurgery at HIMA San Pablo Hospital. In addition, they founded Brainvent, Inc. and served as the Director of the Nathan Rifkinson Gamma Knife Center at Puerto Rico Medical Services Administration. Luis J also served as the Acting Chief Scientific Officer and Co-Founder of ValSculp, where they worked on developing suture-based solutions for repairing intra-cardiac pathologies.

Luis J Almodóvar began their education in 2002 at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. Luis J pursued a degree in Neurological Surgery and completed their studies in 2007. Later in 2007, they attended the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center to specialize in Neurosurgical Oncology, where they stayed until 2008.
