Theodore Matthews (Teddy)

Theodore (Teddy) Matthews serves as a Chaplain for the Chicago Bears since July 2021. Additionally, Matthews is a Certified Speaker, Coach, and Trainer with The John Maxwell Team and a Certified Speaker and Coach with Eric Thomas & Associates LLC, both roles active since 2020 and April 2021 respectively. As the Founder and Executive Director of The Empowerment Foundation Inc. since May 2017, Matthews leads a nonprofit organization focused on empowering individuals and organizations. Since March 2016, Matthews has been the Lead Pastor at Empowerment Church, which aims to reach and empower communities. Previously, Matthews held the position of Youth Minister/Preaching Assistant & Special Projects at Rock of Ages Baptist Church from 2011 to November 2014, where responsibilities included planning comprehensive youth programs. Matthews holds educational credentials from Moody Bible Institute (2011-2013) and Aurora University.
