Akbar Rahman

Akbar Rahman is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in telecommunications and network systems. Currently, Rahman serves as a Senior Systems Engineer at Ericsson, focusing on 5G Cloud RAN product design in compliance with industry standards such as 3GPP and O-RAN. Previously, Rahman held the role of Principal Engineer at InterDigital, Inc., where architectural contributions to 5G and 6G network enhancements were made. Earlier experience includes positions as a Systems Engineer at Nortel Networks and a Software Engineer at Ericsson, as well as an engineering role at MDA related to electronics packaging for the CanadaArm2. Rahman began the professional journey as a Software Engineer Intern at IBM. Educational qualifications include a BASc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and further studies in Computer Systems Analysis and Design at McGill University.
