Nico Alfonso has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Nico started their career in 2009 as a Store Manager at The Athens Pyramids. They then worked as an Assistant Manager at Heavenly Hookah Lounge before joining Geek Squad as a Computer Repair Technician in 2012. In 2014, Nico became a Bartender at Pitfire Artisan Pizza before transitioning to freelance video work as a Professional Freelancer. In this role, Nico worked on various projects for different clients, ranging from small independent projects to high-profile brands like HBO and Amazon. From 2016 to 2020, Nico worked as a Driver for Lyft. In 2020, Nico enrolled in a 12-month intensive software engineering program called Project Based Training, where they developed full-stack applications using various languages and tools. Since 2020, Nico has been involved in various roles at Kenzie Academy, including Software Engineering Coach, Software Engineering Course Facilitator, and Academics Program Specialist. They have contributed to curriculum reviews, code reviews, workshops, and one-on-one feedback sessions. Nico's most recent work experience is as a Software Developer at ERIN, starting in February 2023.
Nico Alfonso's education history begins in 2005 when they attended Avonworth High School and obtained a High School Diploma in General Studies in 2009. From 2009 to 2012, they attended Ohio University, majoring in Computer Science and also studying Cinematography and Film/Video Production.
In 2020, Nico Alfonso enrolled in Kenzie Academy and completed a Certification in Computer Software Engineering, which lasted until 2021. Additionally, in the same year, they obtained a Certificate in Front End Web Development from Kenzie Academy.
Apart from these formal education experiences, Nico Alfonso has obtained several certifications. In April 2020, they received a certification in JavaScript Algorithms and Data Structures as well as a certification in Responsive Web Design, both from freeCodeCamp. In December 2013, they obtained a Retail Edge Certification from Intel Corporation. Moreover, they received a Heartsaver CPR AED Classroom certification from the American Heart Association in December 2015.
