Carrie Burton has a diverse work experience in various industries. Carrie began their career in 2004 as a Head Teller at BB&T. From there, they transitioned to The Bank NA, where they worked as an Assistant Manager from 2006 to 2012. In 2013, they joined Woodforest National Bank as a Branch Manager until 2016. Carrie then moved on to Erlanger Health System, where they held multiple roles, including Administrative Assistant and Executive Assistant, from 2015 to the present. Carrie's most recent position at Erlanger is as an Executive Assistant to the Senior VP and Chief Nurse Executive.
Carrie Burton completed their education with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Coastal Carolina University in 2010. Before that, they earned an Associate of Science degree in Accounting and Business/Management from Tidewater Community College in 2008. Recently, in 2024, they obtained a Master's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Western Governors University. Carrie also holds additional certifications in time management from LinkedIn and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.

Erlanger, named among "America's Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report, is a non-profit, academic teaching center affiliated with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Erlanger is also a Level-One Trauma Center for adults and the only provider of tertiary care services for the citizens of an entire four-state region, encompassing southeast Tennessee, north Georgia, north Alabama and western North Carolina. The Erlanger Health System includes Children's Hospital at Erlanger (CHE), the only academic medical center in the tri-state region devoted solely to children and is a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center (CRPC)— the highest designation in the state for pediatrics. CHE has a full range of pediatric subspecialists, as well as a pediatrics ER, ICU, and Level III neonatal intensive care unit, providing the highest level of care in the region for premature and sick infants.
