Giuseppe Pizzorno has a diverse work experience in the field of medical research and academia. Giuseppe is currently serving as the Regional Medical Director for the Clinical Trials Network of Tennessee (CTN2) at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga, as well as the Chair of the Clinical Trials Governance Board (CTGB) at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Giuseppe has been an Executive Committee Member of the Clinical Trials Network of Tennessee (CTN2) Board since 2019. Prior to these roles, they held positions such as Professor and Associate Dean for Research at the University of Tennessee-Health Science Center College of Medicine, Chief Research Officer at Erlanger Health System, and Principal Owner of Pizzorno Scientific Consulting. Giuseppe also worked as a Research Professor and Program Director at the Desert Research Institute and served as the Co-Founder and Deputy Director/Vice President of Research Operations at the Nevada Cancer Institute. Earlier in their career, they held various positions at Yale University School of Medicine, including Associate Professor, Research Director of Yale Pediatric Pharmacology Research Unit, Director Clinical Pharmacology at Yale Cancer Center, and Assistant Professor.

Giuseppe Pizzorno completed their education with a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from Università degli Studi di Genova, from 1977 to 1983. Giuseppe then pursued a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree at the same institution from 1978 to 1984. Afterwards, they undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Pharmacology/Oncology at Yale University School of Medicine from 1986 to 1988.
