Erlanger, named among "America's Best Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report, is a non-profit, academic teaching center affiliated with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Erlanger is also a Level-One Trauma Center for adults and the only provider of tertiary care services for the citizens of an entire four-state region, encompassing southeast Tennessee, north Georgia, north Alabama and western North Carolina. The Erlanger Health System includes Children's Hospital at Erlanger (CHE), the only academic medical center in the tri-state region devoted solely to children and is a Comprehensive Regional Pediatric Center (CRPC)— the highest designation in the state for pediatrics.
