Melvin Petty

Melvin Petty has more than 30 years of executive-level technical, operational, and financial management experience. He credits ERP’s success to the hard work of its 700 passionate employees. Since co-founding ERP in 2006 with his wife, Sandra, ERP has grown into a national firm recognized for leveraging brilliant people, innovative solutions, and business process transformation to create value-based solutions. Under Melvin’s leadership, ERP has secured 1,500-plus federal government and DoD contracts. His focus on developing sustainable business environments has earned him several accolades, including the 2021 Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur Of The Year® for the Mid-Atlantic region.

Melvin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from James Madison University, and later, CPA certification. He was part of Primark’s team that navigated its remarkable M&A period growing from $30-$720 million. Later he served as Senior Manager, CFO, and President of a small government contracting firm before starting ERP. Melvin is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants. Melvin is an Alumni of the prestigious Young President Organization (YPO), a global leadership community of extraordinary chief executives. Melvin supports many charitable organizations and is an active mentor spearheading ERP’s open-door policy for entrepreneurs that guides 15 new business people annually.
