J.I. Lustre has a diverse work experience in the financial industry. They started their career at RCBC in 2013 as a Credit Investigator and Appraiser. After a year, they moved to BDO Unibank where they held the role of an Account Officer Team Lead for the Auto Loan division. During their time at BDO, they successfully grew the portfolio and expanded the reach to remote towns. In 2021, J.I. Lustre joined Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) as a Corporate Credit Officer, where they served as an Assistant Manager. Currently, they are working at ErudiFi as a Partnerships and Business Development Manager, focusing on expanding access to higher education in the Visayas and Mindanao regions of the Philippines.

They first obtained a Bachelor's degree in Science in Business Administration majoring in Management Accounting from Holy Name University, completing their studies from 2009 to 2013.
