Kimberly D. Lewis is Of Counsel in the Litigation, Trust and Estates, and Land Use/Environmental Law Departments

Kimberly has more than 30 years of general litigation experience. During her career, she has handled, through trial, a wide variety of litigation matters, ranging from trusts and estates to real estate and environmental disputes. Kimberly also advises clients concerning insurance coverage matters. She has extensive deposition and trial experience, has been lead counsel in numerous trials and binding arbitrations and has been instrumental in obtaining favorable settlements for her clients, including large multi-party matters, involving substantial claims at both the pre-litigation stage, mediation and in judicial settlement conferences. She provides her clients with aggressive, creative and cost-effective representation.

Kimberly has successfully litigated numerous trusts and estates litigation matters, including disputes contesting the validity of estate planning documents, claims for breach of fiduciary duty and financial elder abuse claims.

Her significant experience in litigating environmental claims includes CERCLA cases involving multi-party Superfund and private cost recovery matters with significant exposures, cases under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Clean Water Act and the California Environmental Quality Act, as well as matters involving property damage, tort, nuisance, trespass and statutory claims. She also represents clients in disputes with environmental agencies at the local, state and federal level to resolve those disputes in innovative ways, and regularly advises clients in the acquisition and sale of properties with environmental issues.

Kimberly also handles insurance coverage matters involving commercial liability, errors and omissions, and environmental/pollution liability and property policies (including business interruption claims). Her clients include insurers, policy holders, property owners, developers, purchasers, business owners and landlords and tenants.

She received her legal education at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where she served as both a staff member and Articles Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Journal.
