Jeff Schwartzentruber

Jeff Schwartzentruber, PhD, CISSP has a diverse work experience in the field of computer science and information security. Jeff is currently serving as a Sr. Machine Learning Scientist at eSentire since December 2021. In addition, they hold positions as a Special Graduate Faculty at the University of Guelph, a Faculty of Computer Science Adjunct at Dalhousie University, and an Industry Research Fellow and Entrepreneur in Residence at Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, Toronto Metropolitan University, all starting in 2022.

Prior to these roles, they worked at 2Keys - An Interac Company as a Principal Data Scientist and Research Lead from January 2019 to November 2021, and as a Sr. Research Associate from January 2018 to January 2019. Jeff also served as an Information Security Consultant at the Bank of Canada from April 2019 to November 2020.

Before that, Jeff was a Research Lead at Magna International from September 2013 to March 2018, and an R&D Contractor at Bauer Hockey from November 2015 to May 2016.

Jeff Schwartzentruber, PhD, CISSP, has an extensive education history. Jeff earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University, where they specialized in the field of Materials and Manufacturing in Mechanical Engineering. This degree was obtained from 2013 to 2018. Prior to their PhD, they completed their MASc in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, focusing on Aerospace. This Master's degree spanned from 2011 to 2013. Jeff's undergraduate education began in 2006 and concluded in 2011, during which they obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) from Toronto Metropolitan University.

In addition to their educational achievements, Jeff has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. Jeff is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), certified by (ISC)², which they obtained in October 2020. Furthermore, they hold certifications in CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ from CompTIA, acquired in March 2020 and February 2020, respectively.
