Michal Kristufek

Chief Legal Officer at ESET

Michal Kristufek has a diverse range of work experience, starting in 1998 as a Judicial Trainee at the Military Court. Michal then worked as an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Commenius University, where they primarily lectured on Intellectual Property Law. In 2000, they joined UPC BROADBAND SLOVAKIA as a lawyer, eventually becoming the General Counsel and overseeing all legal and regulatory affairs. After almost 10 years with UPC, they were promoted to the position of General Counsel, Data Privacy Officer, and Compliance Officer at UPC DTH in Luxembourg. Michal'smain responsibilities were setting up the legal and regulatory support for the satellite TV business in Central and Eastern European countries, as well as managing external legal relationships. In 2016, they became a self-employed farmer before joining ESET in 2017 as the Deputy Chief Legal Officer, and later becoming the Chief Legal Officer.

Michal Kristufek has a Certificate in "The Challenge of Leadership as Legal Manager in a Heavy Regulated International Company" from the Management Centre Europe, completed in 2006. Michal has a JUDr. degree in Law from Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave, completed in 1999. Michal also has an Mgr. degree in Law from the same university, completed in 1998. Prior to that, they attended GJH from 1989 to 1993, but no degree or field of study information was provided for this education.
