Brianna Vickerman

Research Assistant Professor at Eshelman Innovation

Brianna Vickerman, PhD, currently serves as a Research Assistant Professor and Light Activated Therapeutics Program Manager at Eshelman Innovation since May 2023. Previously, Brianna co-directed the strategy and managed activities at Nucleate from June 2021 to June 2023, co-founding the RTP Chapter, and leading the inaugural Activator Program for biotech startups. Academically, Brianna's postdoctoral research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill focused on advancing light-controlled therapeutic release technology. The educational background includes a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS in Chemistry and Mathematics from the University of St. Thomas. Additional experiences include program coordination for Innovate Carolina's 3.8 Initiative and participation in various entrepreneurial programs, where notable achievements include winning accelerators and undertaking comprehensive customer discovery projects.
