Dean Govender

Dean Govender is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles within the energy, beverage, and chemical industries. Currently serving as a Non Executive Director at SANEA NPC since May 2023, Dean Govender has also held the position of Chief Advisor: Business Intelligence (Primary Energy) at Eskom since 2012, a key player in Africa's electricity sector. Previously, Dean Govender was a Strategy Development Manager at SABMiller from 2009 to 2011, responsible for monitoring and aligning strategic initiatives. Dean Govender's earlier career includes a tenure as a Chemical Engineer and Strategy Developer at Sasol Pty Limited from 2001 to 2009. An academic background includes an MBA in Strategy from The University of Edinburgh, a cum laude BSc in Human Physiology and Biochemistry from the University of South Africa, and a BSc (Eng) in Chemical Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
