Evert van Walsum

Evert van Walsum is a seasoned professional in the fields of investor protection and sustainable finance, currently serving as the Head of the Investor Protection and Sustainable Finance Department at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) since August 2023. With prior experience as the Administrative Director at Eurojust and as the Head of the Investors and Issuers Department at ESMA, Evert has a strong background in regulatory and compliance roles, including positions at ABN AMRO and Deloitte. Evert's expertise encompasses legislative frameworks such as MiFID/MiFIR, AIFMD, and SFDR, and involves significant roles in corporate finance, fund management, and supervisory convergence. Evert holds an MBA from INSEAD and a degree from the University of Amsterdam.
