Michael Dopheide

Michael Dopheide is a Senior Security Engineer at ESnet. Michael has over 15 years of experience in the field of information security.

Michael started their career as a Research Programmer at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). Michael then transitioned to a Systems Engineer, and eventually a Security Engineer.

In 2011, they left NCSA to join US Bank as an Information Security Specialist, Sr. In this role, they led device security assessments, pentesting, traffic analysis, and served as a subject matter expert for various network security topics.

In 2014, they were promoted to Assistant Vice President, Manager Information Security. In this role, they coordinated network, device, and application penetration testing with forays into vulnerability analysis and SME engagements.

Michael left US Bank in 2015 and joined ESnet as a Senior Security Engineer.

Michael Dopheide completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Michael Dopheide reports to Adam Slagell, Chief Security Officer. Michael Dopheide works with Kapil Agrawal - Security Engineer, Samuel Oehlert - Security Engineer, and Fatema Bannat Wala - Security Engineer.
