Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project
Eimile Nolan is a qualified legal professional currently serving as a Staff Attorney and previously as a Legal Fellow at the Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project since September 2023. Eimile has gained legal experience as a Certified Law Clerk at the Office of the Federal Defender from May 2022 to August 2022 and as a Legal Intern at the California Department of Social Services during the summer of 2021. Eimile has a diverse background that includes roles in customer service as a Server at Icekrimski Café and an Attendant at Varsity Theatre from January 2017 to March 2020, as well as a Barista position at Gaylord's Caffe Espresso in 2018. Educationally, Eimile earned a Doctor of Law (JD) with a focus on International and Comparative Law from the University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law in 2023, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of California, Berkeley.
Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project
Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, a program of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc., is a non-profit law firm which provides community education and legal representation to Southern California’s most vulnerable immigrant communities. Esperanza provides legal representation to immigrants who are in detention and/or removal proceedings, and focuses on particularly complex immigration cases which may involve unaccompanied minors, adults with mental health issues, and cases with past criminal or gang history. Esperanza also provides community education programming and pro se assistance to immigrants in removal proceedings both in detained and non-detained settings. Esperanza has proudly provided legal services to immigrants and their families in Los Angeles for over 15 years.
