Jen Mergel

Jen Mergel is an accomplished arts professional currently serving as the Executive Director of the Esplanade Association since June 2023. With extensive experience as an Independent Curator since April 2017, Mergel specializes in artist interviews and the development of site-responsive art initiatives. Active in promoting racial and health equity, Mergel is a member of the inaugural class of the Culture of Health Leadership Institute for Racial Healing, a program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Mergel's leadership roles also include Senior Advisor for Cultural Partnerships & Parks Equity at the Emerald Necklace Conservancy and workshops at prominent venues like the Museum of Modern Art, focusing on artist interviews. Education includes an AB from Harvard University and an MA in Curatorial Studies from Bard College.
