Binyi Chen has worked in the tech industry since 2013, beginning with a Research Intern role at Microsoft Research Asia. In 2016, they moved to Institut Henri Poincaré as a Research Visitor. In 2018, they held a Research Intern role at VISA Research and a Visiting PHD Student role at the University of Washington. From 2019 to 2022, they worked as a Software Engineer at Google before taking on their current role as Chief Cryptographer at Espresso Systems.
Binyi Chen completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2014. Following that, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cryptography, Security, and Blockchain from UC Santa Barbara in 2019.
