James Richards

James Richards is a seasoned software developer specializing in GIS applications with over 25 years of experience in the field. Currently serving as a Software Developer for iOS Apps at Esri since August 2018, James leverages extensive expertise in both mission-critical GIS applications and native iOS app development. As President and CTO of Artisan Global LLC since 2007, James has implemented over 30 solutions on the Esri platform while effectively managing remote agile teams. Previous roles include advising on iPhone app development for Zaarly, consulting on GIS restructuring in the real estate sector, and leading product development at Planet One GIS Software, where James developed a public safety GIS application. With advanced degrees from the University of Maine and Cornell University, James has a robust educational foundation in surveying engineering and landscape architecture, respectively.
