Benny Van Calster has a diverse work experience in marketing and consulting roles. Benny currently serves as the Head of Marketing at Essensium, where they provide interim marketing management for their real-time location-based solution. Benny also supports new positioning and value proposition, product marketing initiatives, and go-to-market approaches for the Essensium Positioning System. Benny is also the Head of Marketing at Mind, a division of Essensium focused on staffing and consulting projects in the embedded and open-source segment.

In addition, Benny has lectured at various universities, including VIVES University College and HOGENT, where they taught marketing and sales courses. Benny also owns and directs capitalM bv, their management company, where they offer sales and marketing consulting, interim management, and training services.

Benny has worked as a Business Consultant at Lemon Operations and a European Product Marketing Manager at Elster EnergyICT. Benny also held a Sales & Marketing management role for M2M devices at Option NV.

Furthermore, Benny co-founded Minds&More, a market leader in commercial excellence trajectories, where they served as a Founding Partner until September 2021. Benny helped build a network of over 100 professionals in sales and marketing, offering interim management, project management, digital marketing, sales training, coaching, and consulting solutions.

Benny's previous experience includes serving as a Lecturer in Marketing at UC Leuven-Limburg and their role as a continuing Guest Lecturer in Marketing at various universities.

Benny Van Calster has a diverse education history that spans several decades. Their educational journey began in 1983 at Rega School, where they obtained an A1 degree in Information Technology in 1985. Benny then went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Marketing at Groep T - Internationale Hogeschool Leuven from 1986 to 1989.

In 2008, Benny attended Vlerick Business School, where they completed a program in mastering interim management. The following year, from 2009 to 2011, they enrolled in a part-time Executive MBA program at Antwerp Management School.

Continuing their commitment to professional development, Benny engaged in several executive education programs. In 2020, they completed an executive education program on bringing strategy to life at Vlerick Business School. In 2019, they pursued an online program on digital transformation and platform strategies for success through MIT Sloan executive education (online).

Further solidifying their expertise, Benny attended the Vlerick Business School in 2022 for a specialized program on Director Effectiveness, in partnership with GUBERNA, focusing on enhancing director effectiveness.

In addition to their formal education, Benny obtained the certification of Certified FunnelCoach from Mahtmarketing in Australia in January 2014.
