Filip Buerms

Filip Buerms has extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the technology and telecommunications industry. Filip started their career at Telindus as an Account Executive before joining Anixter as the European Marketing Manager. At Anixter, they focused on sales and marketing activities in Continental Europe and developed relations with vendors at a Pan-European level.

Following their time at Anixter, Buerms worked at Dialogic Telecom Europe as the Business Unit Manager for Fax. Filip then joined Xircom as the VP of Sales & Marketing for EMEA, where they managed a team and had P&L responsibility. After Xircom was acquired by Intel, they continued their role as the Director of Sales & Technical Services for EMEA.

Buerms furthered their career at Intel, serving as the Director of Marketing 'PNG EMEA' and later as the Director of Distribution Europe. In these positions, they managed large distribution groups and implemented various channel programs.

Next, they joined BSI as the Managing Director MS CEMEA, where they had P&L responsibility for the Management Systems division. Buerms then moved on to Option NV, where they served as the VP Global Sales & Distribution, responsible for the global sales of USB sticks, Data Cards, and Embedded Modules for Mobile Internet Access.

Most recently, Buerms became the CEO of Essensium in 2013.

Filip Buerms completed their Master of Electrical Engineering degree in Electronics from Ghent University, from the years 1981 to 1986. Filip also pursued a Part Time MBA Programme - JMP from Vlerick Business School, from 1993 to 1995.
