Timo Koole

Timo Koole has extensive experience in the IT industry, with a primary focus on cloud engineering and software development. Timo has worked in various roles and companies, starting with Rijksuniversiteit Groningen as a Student Assistant in Chronobiology in 2013. Timo then gained experience as a Financial Analyst and Head of Audit Committee at Cleopatra A.S.G., where they were responsible for financial forecasting, contract negotiations, and advising on accounting matters.

Timo then moved into the IT sector and joined Calco as a Masterclass Professional, where they underwent a two-year IT professional traineeship. Timo subsequently joined msg global solutions as part of the Trainee International IT Talent Program, gaining knowledge in SAP financial modules.

From there, Timo joined Nationale-Nederlanden (NN) as a SAP FS-PM Developer in a Scrum Team, where they were involved in delivering new insurance and pension products. Timo also worked as a SAP Lead in the Platform Team for NN's Pensions platform, focusing on reducing operating costs and ensuring platform readiness for the future.

Timo's career then led him to BeFrank, where they worked as a Full Stack Engineer, developing an online pension administration system called Komodo. Timo utilized their skills in Java, AngularJS, Docker, and Docker Swarm for this project.

After BeFrank, Timo joined NN Investment Partners as a Cloud and Software Engineer in the IAM Team. Here, they contributed to the development of the internal Identity and Access management application, involving user and system management, Single Sign-On functionality, and API support.

Following their time at NN Investment Partners, Timo worked at Goldman Sachs as a Software and Cloud Engineer, focusing on software and cloud-based solutions.

Finally, Timo joined Essent as an AWS Lead Engineer through Team Rockstars IT, where they managed AWS infrastructure and led engineering projects.

Throughout their career, Timo has gained expertise in AWS, cloud engineering, software development, and project management. Timo has experience with a wide range of technologies and tools, including Java, Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab, and Terraform.

Timo Koole holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Biology, General from the University of Groningen, which they obtained from 2007 to 2010. Timo also holds a Master's degree in Behavioral and Neurosciences from the same university, which they completed from 2010 to 2013. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained various certifications, including the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in 2018 and the PRINCE2 Foundation Certificate in Project Management from EXIN in 2014. Timo also holds certifications in areas such as databases, IT service management, and agile project management. Most recently, in 2020, Timo obtained the CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer certification from The Linux Foundation.
