Dan Martin

Dan Martin is a highly experienced senior electrical engineer currently working at Essential Energy, specializing in zone substations engineering and the integration of solar farms, battery energy storage systems, and electric vehicles. Dan also serves as Treasurer and Convener of the transformers panel for CIGRE New Zealand, where responsibilities include managing financial workflows and organizing industry networking events. Previous roles include project engineer at ETEL Ltd., senior lecturer at the University of Queensland, and director of the Centre for Power Transformer Monitoring at Monash University. Dan holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Manchester and a Masters in Engineering Project Management from the University of Auckland.
