Rui Tang

Rui Tang is a Senior Data Scientist at Essential Energy since July 2023, previously serving as a Senior Research Associate at UNSW, contributing to the SolarShift project funded by RACE for 2030. From March 2015 to June 2023, Rui worked as a Data Scientist at Solar Analytics, focusing on algorithm and backend developments for solar system performance monitoring and diagnostic data analysis. Rui also held the position of Algorithm Engineer while pursuing a PhD at the University of Sydney from March 2017 to March 2021, with key contributions including a sensitivity analysis of data granularity in battery integrated PV systems and the development of a data extrapolation model. Rui holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Renewable Energy Engineering from UNSW, completed in 2014.
