Richard Willis has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Richard started their career as a Strategic Planner at Derbyshire Building Society in 2000 and later joined Jewson, where they held various positions including Sales Support Manager and Senior Business Development Analyst. During their time at Jewson, Richard played a key role in developing sales reporting systems and delivering induction programs. In 2012, they joined Buildbase as a Business Support Manager, where they performed detailed commercial analysis and improved sales reporting accuracy. Richard then moved on to Grafton Merchanting GB in 2013, where they served as the Head of Marketing Insights, creating a single view of the customer and developing robust customer segmentation. In 2015, they joined M and M Direct as a Customer Data Insight Manager before moving to Essentra in 2016. At Essentra, Richard first worked as the Marketing Analytics Lead before being promoted to the Head of Analytics & Insight, responsible for leading the analytics and insight function.
Richard Willis completed their education with a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Geography from the University of Aberdeen in 1995. Richard later pursued a PhD in Organisational change in the building society industry at Newcastle University, which they completed in 2000.
