Alastair Gordon

Alastair Gordon is an experienced professional with a robust background in policy, strategy, and research. Currently serving as Head of Profession: Research and Citizen Insight and Head of Policy, Strategy and Innovation at Essex County Council since January 2018, Alastair has previously held significant roles, including Study Director for the Cambridge Milton Keynes Oxford Growth Corridor at the National Infrastructure Commission and various policy positions at Essex County Council. Alastair began a career in the public sector with roles at the DWP and House of Commons, complemented by an internship at the Social Market Foundation. Alastair’s academic credentials include a BA and MA in Philosophy from the University of Leeds, as well as professional development in data analysis, project management, and leadership.
